RICHARD WALSH
Richard Walsh is one of Oregon’s leading trial attorneys for representing clients with soft tissue injuries caused by automobile collisions. Because of his many successful jury trial verdicts he has also been asked to be a speaker at many legal education seminars for trial lawyers for the Oregon State Bar and for the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. Rich also has written many continuing legal education chapters for lawyers and his article on Combating Defense Medical Examinations has been published in TRIAL Magazine. He has been listed in the Marquis Who’s Who in American Law, Strathmore’s Who’s Who Millennian Edition, and the National Registry of Who’s Who.
Rich is a lifetime Willamette Valley resident. He obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from the University of Oregon Law School in 1986. While at the University of Oregon he served as the Chief Justice for the University’s Constitution Court and graduated with a high class ranking. He began his legal career in 1986 working for an insurance defense firm, but quickly learned that injured people needed strong legal representation against insurance companies in order to obtain full and fair compensation. He began representing injured clients in 1988. Rich’s first jury trial in 1992 resulted in a record breaking verdict of $500,745.09 for a low impact pure soft tissue case. Since then, for more than 20 years, Rich has had helped hundreds of clients obtain fair compensation for their injuries.
Rich has experience representing all types of injury claims ranging from simple soft tissue strains and sprains to severe brain injury or death claims. Rich understands that each claim is unique and even soft tissue injuries and low impact crashes can cause devestating life altering damages. Several of Rich's clients have been awarded six figure verdicts and settlements on soft tissue or low impact injuries in automobile crash cases, including one who obtained a jury verdict in Benton County for $611,434.30 for a case involving intractable headaches from a very low impact collision.
Rich is also very active in the community. He has been serving on the Keizer City Council since 2000 and has been instrumental in creating Keizer Rapids Park, a 120 acre riverfront park. He was awarded the Gwen VondenBosch Regional Leadership Award by the Mid Willamette Valley Council of Governments “in recognition of outstanding leadership in support of regional, intergovernmental cooperation.” In 2008 Rich was presented with the Department of Interior’s Cooperative Conservation Award by secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne in Washington D.C.
Rich remains committed to his clients and to his community. _____________________________________________________________________
